I took on my very first quilt! I found an easy "how-to" from a fellow scrapbooker. Here is the article that I followed by Susan Weinroth. She makes the most beautiful quilts. I Absolutely love the fabrics and the colors. So, once she posted her "how-to," I had to try it out myself. Her example worked perfectly in my neice, Katelyn's room. So, I even used most of her fabric choices; I just changed a few of the colors and this is what I got...
I did make mine a little longer to fit better on a toddler bed. I want to say it took me about 16-18 hours to make, but there were alot of problems with my sewing machine along the way with the tension, and I couldn't get the walking foot to stay on properly. So, I had to give up on that thing. I did alot of pulling stitches even though the previous line was pretty good. I am not too good at staying in a straight line either. There are a few mistakes here and there on it, but I think it turned out pretty good! I had a hard time giving it up ;) Hopefully, it will hold up, and I won't have to restitch it. I may have to invest in a fancier sewing machine for quilting, if I end up doing this again.
