June 24 - June 30, 2013 | Week 26
Saying goobye to June.
I stuck with Becky Higgins Seafoam Core Kit Edition for this week too, just as I did with last weeks. I just find it easiest to roll with the same kit in one sitting. That is what this project is all about, fast and easy.
This was Elsie's big week for her summer camp. The camp of choice was Camp Invention which was conveniently held at her elementary school just down the road. Perfect! We scavenged the house for some recyclables and items she could use to invent with her imagination. On Tuesday, it was Crazy Hat Day at camp. Naturally, we forgot it at home. I ran home quick to grab one, and returned to find her scavenging over all the treasure that could be used for inventing. I was really happy to get a couple of shots in action. Wednesday was Sam's big day in the pool. He decided it was time to swim to the deep end without floats. What a fish. I am so proud of him! Thursday brought some snuggles and blankie smelling time with Dad while he did some work at home.
Friday was Showcase Day for Elsie at camp, but before heading inside to see all of her creations, Sam and I got some playtime in on the playground. Elsie's favorite invention to show off was the Duck Launcher she made in Mrs. Doyle's group. Who was a teacher in her kindergarten and first grades. You can see that they even used her key board to build the launcher. They worked in age groups, so each child only got to take home their own inventions and they raffled off the group inventions. Elsie was a lucky girl who got to take home the duck and the sign off the launcher. She was a little bummed not to be able to take home the entire launcher. It was a fabulous week of imagination. She can NOT wait to go back next summer. It is the perfect camp for a little girl to attend when both her parents are Civil Engineers! We might have a future engineer in our future.
Saturday was a Daddy fun day for the kids, while I got scrappy with my ladies. It was just what I needed after attending to two little mini mights for the first month of summer vacation. I need to do it again! Then, Sunday was an afternoon with some of the neighborhood on one of our neighbor's boat. Nice. They have a pontoon boat with a top level and a slide. It was so nice. I can just see our next big investment to save up for.
