December 02 - December 08, 2013 | Week 49
December is in full swing and our halls get decked!
This week was documented with the awesome Cut & Paste Collection by My Mind's Eye. I showed off earlier I actually had this up on their blog over two weeks ago. I guess with our million "snow/cold" days this month, it slipped from my blogging schedule. The kids actually only had 11 actual days of school during the month of January. Ummm... What!? I am ready to get back to our regularly scheduled program. Anyway... that really has nothing to do with Week 49 of 2013! If you would like to see my post over at the My Mind's Eye blog, please jump on over HERE.
Monday was kicked off with a breakfast with Rexy our Elf. The kiddies had Cheerios, while Rexy choose Cheese-its. What a silly little Elf. Chris continued to move a little forward on getting a new toilet in our master bathroom. He loves to start a project at the most opportune time. I don't ever doubt his mad handy skills. I am very lucky to have such a talented hubby. This is actually the 3rd toilet he has installed just in the duration of our marriage. I just know that several trips to the Home Depot are in order because of issues in this house, which just doesn't work during a normal work/school week. I just try to convince myself that we can't be the only people cursed by every home project we take on. Right?!? Anyway, Sam and I also got our trip to the library for our weekly hunt for dinosaurs.
With lots of rain the past several weeks and snow in the forecast, I knew Thursday was going to be our best and last chance to clean up the backyard full of leaves. So, Sam helped me get busy collecting. It was still a little damp, but I didn't want to see those things out there throughout our winter thaws. He was excited to reap the benefits of helping with jumping in the piles. I am a pretty lucky Mom to have such a strong and helpful boy to pull all those leaves to the front curb with me. This is the time of year where I am not so happy about all those trees in our backyard. HA! I am just glad we did it then, because as predicted, the snow came in! I was also lucky to get away to spend some time with my good friend Project Life-ing away at Archiver's. YEAH!
This was also the week we got our Christmas tree.
I created an insert to include extra pictures of our adventures searching for the perfect tree...
... and then decorating it too.
I shared this on my blog earlier. You can find that HERE. Having this documented already was fun, because I could keep the rest of the week non-Christmas theme-y. I love that I was still able to pull the same colors out of Cut & Paste Collection by My Mind's Eye though!
