Elsie had her first official soccer game this past Saturday afternoon.
She did great! She was even a starter in the first quarter, but was a little timid. Her second, third, and fourth quarters were awesome. She figured out how to get up in front of the person who had the ball to kick it away. She also started to use her arms to defend her own ball. Even the super big kid on the other team didn't scare my little peanut.
Elsie even got a goal! I am pretty sure it was her... anyway. There was another little girl running with her from the other team, and I am not possitive which one actually kicked the final kick into the goal. So, since Elsie was the one with the ball last on her team and it went into her team's goal, I say it was her ;)
Unfortunately, her team lost. It was something like 8 to 3. That big kid on the other team kicked in all but one of their goals. But Elsie had fun, and she even surprised her coaches by playing so good. Both of her coaches said at different times to me and Chris that they were surprised and impressed with Elsie. Guess she gets more into the games than the practices. That is my competitive girl!

We are officially back into the swing of things again. Elsie started the school rituals last week and today was her first full (half-day) all by herself.
Last week, I pulled up into the parking lot and got "Why are we parking?"
"Because I get to come in with you today."
"Oh, you are helping getting the kids?"
"No. I get to stay with you at school."
"Why?"
... so needless to say, my little girl didn't think I needed to be at her first day this year. But she warmed up to it, and didn't mind me there. To be honest, I don't think she even noticed me the entire time. Guess she is a big girl now. She doesn't need her Mamma at school :( I am so proud of her. She is such a big girl!
But the other one...
He still misses her by the time we have to go get her. Today, we stopped at Target and then came home to play outside and then inside for alittle bit. When I said, lets go get Elsie. He purked right up, and said "AAAh-see." Walked back to the door and grabbed his shoes. He was ready to go get his sister. His best playfriend.

Now that Elsie's first year of pre-school is complete, I thought I would share a little bit of what she created during her first year. In April, she had an art show to showcase most of this crafty-ness. Here is a little dabble of that...
This is her very special nursery rhyme book. They worked on it all year long creating it and learning each rhyme. From The Three Little Piggies to my personal favorite Three Little Kittens, she knows them all! I just love the way she says "you naughty kittens." I will have to get the video out to make sure that I tape her reciting her book so that I can share with all of you.
And here is a little dabble of some of her art that was on display for her art show. I am one proud Mamma.

Elsie had her last day of pre-school yesterday. My baby girl has officially started her first official summer vacation.
Here she is just before jumping in the car for the last day... until next year ;) She found two beautiful flowers that she brought to her teachers. Elsie loves her flowers!
Of course another shot when I picked her up there. Her teachers where sweet and gave her some bubbles. There was one bottle left, so Sam even got one.
Then we headed off to DQ for a special lunch with her best friend, Samantha. Sam and Samantha are always smitten with each other. It is always cute to watch them. Samantha is the youngest in her family, and I think she likes having someone younger than herself around.
Dad was thinking. He brought home a Sparkling Cherry Spumante to celebrate her special day. Both of the kiddies thought it was pretty cool.
We got lots of exciting faces everytime they took a sip. They are not use to the carbination at all.
Sam just cracked me up too. His eyes were starting to water up from it.
So there she is, my little school girl. First year of pre-school a success. Now, here's to a great first official summer vacation!

WOW! My little girlie is a 4-year old. Can you believe that? Nope, me neither. Her birthday fell on a Thursday, so she got to celebrate the day at school too. I was lucky and got to sneak in for part of the day to see all the fun.
Of course she had to wear a special birthday princess badge! They also made her a special birthday cake, and she picked a pink cake with pink frosting... like there was any other option for my girlie girl? Then, they all had some chocolate ice cream with chocolate milk to wash it down. That day, they had a fun show to attend, Rodger Dodger.
She was picked to go up there and help them out. It was pretty special, and she loved every second of it.
For lunch, we headed to the "Ice Cream Place" as Elsie puts it. A special lunch, with a special treat afterwards of course!
That evening, we had all of Elsie's friends come over to celebrate with pizza and cake.
Elsie chose Belle to be on her cake. She absolutely adores her princesses, and Gram DiDi did a fabulous job decorating the perfect cake.
Not only did her closest friends show up, but also the Grandmas and Grandpa did too.
Happy 4th Birthday, my sweet princess girl! It was a special day for all of us!

We took some pictures of Elsie this past weekend. She was so excited to get her hair pretty, nails painted, and of course wear her pretty skirt. Here are a few of my favorites. She did absolutely wonderful. I think I got alot of cute shots that definitely show her personality.
And of course a shot with blankie.

Elsie turned 2 ½ on this past week {October 22nd} So, here are a few little tidbits about Elsie now… Favorite foods… Chew-was ‘n’ Milk {AKA Cheerios and Milk} Mac ‘n’ Cheese Gram Crackers Jam Sandwiches All fruits…new kick is apple sauce preferably with strawberry She is an awesome eater. She eats anything we put in front of her… but those are just a few favorites! Favorite Restaurants… Donald’s {AKA McDonald’s} for cheeseburger or sometimes chicken nuggets woth apple slices and white milk. She even knows that she has to eat all her food up before she gets the toy! Applebee’s to eat anything Mom or Dad will share with her. She really loves the broccoli and mash potatoes. Bob Evan’s for some Turkey Turkey { AKA the Turkey Lurkey dinner} Chipotle for some rice ’n’ beans Taco Bell for a soft taco supreme with lots of tomatoes Favorite Stores We Shop at… Target, her aboslute favorite! She will recognize that sign anywhere. Loves to look at the shoes and move on the toys. “Ball Store” {AKA Old Navy} She gets a quarter to put in the machine for a jumbo bouncing ball. Then, Dad and her get to play with it while Mom shops. This only happened once, and the next time we pulled up to the parking lot, she immediately called out in excitement… “The Ball Store!” “Book Store” {AKA Marshall’s} She always looks forward to reading all of the kid books in the toy department, while Mom looks through all the kid clothes. “Mamma Store” {AKA Hobbly Lobby or Archiver’s} She enjoys seeing all the “gabes” in Hobby Lobby. There are fake grapes throughout the store in all of the home décor… actually took a while before figuring out what she was talking about. I couldn’t figure out why she kept calling out Gabe! In Archiver’s, she enjoys partnering up with Dad and playing hide ‘n’ seek … finding Mom all over the store. Home Depot, She loves to ride on all of the tractors in the lawn and garden department. It is a must stop every time she is there. Fun thing is, once they put up the Halloween decorations near there, she really didn’t want anything to do with them. It was the first time she ever showed fear. My poor baby is going to have a hard time with Halloween this year! Favorite Play… Playing outside with bubbles and chalk. Mom and Dad still have to draw lots of flowers, hearts, balloons, houses, chew-was ’n’ milk, and the outline of hands and feet. She is beginning to finally want to draw herself. She does great lines and some circles. She even tries to outline her own hand. She likes to bounce the ball back and forth. Play golf in the front yard. She even takes turns with Mom and Dad, and makes sure that she is very much out of the way when it is not her turn to hit the ball. She has gone through a stage of picking up walnuts in the backyard. She always has a collection of various flowers, special walnuts, acorns, and rocks in her buckets. Her new obsession is to look for pirate treasure. Chris will hide coins in a pile of rocks in the backyard. She gets so exited and even talks like a pirate… “Rrrrr, I’ra pie-rat, Rrrrr.“ and “Rrrrrr, pie-rat treasure.“ Dad also plays “Jumpin’ Bean.“ Chris will grab on to her hands and lift her up high up in the air several times in a row… she even knows that it is only an outside game. Of course, she loves to play with “the kids” in the neighborhood. She always looks out the window asking “Where da kids, Mom? Play with da kids, Mom?” Inside playing falls second on her list, but she likes to play puzzles, draw on the water and magna doodles, put stickers in her sticker books (and on herself, Mom, and Dad), read lots of books. She finds a few favorites from her collection, and we read them non-stop all day throughout the week! Then, she moves on to another batch of books. Currently, it is the “Big Sister” book, “Halloween” book where she now wants to be a robot for Halloween, and “Brown Bear Brown Bear.” She likes to pull out her blocks and sort the by putting the small single blocks back into the bag, while Dad makes all kinds of creations… airplanes, robots, and towers. One of her absolute favorite things to do, is play with Mom’s buttons. We dump them out onto the floor, and she sorts out her favorite ones, the shaped ones… her favorites are the sparkly heart, fishy button, and “egg” shaped ones! She also finds all the hearts, stars, squares, and flowers. Those go back into the jar. Then, the large chunky buttons go into her little blue bucket. Favorite Songs to sing… Old McDonald {especially while washing hands. Ironically, he always has a cow on his farm!} ABC’s Ring Around the Rosie Happy Birthday {It is always “somebody’s” birthday} “Move it move it” from Madagascar And she makes up random blabbering songs… can’t quite figure out what exactly she is saying What She Loves to Watch… ‘Toons: Sesame Street, Word World, “Animal Show” {AKA Big Big Wold}, Handy Manny, Micky Mouse Club House Moveis: ALL Disney Movies are well loved by Elsie... “Monsters” {AKA Monster’s Ink}, Incredibles, “Move it, Move it” {AKA Madagascar }, Cars, Nemo, Robots Things she has learned… All her colors Shapes {circle, square, rectangle, triangle, heart, star, “egg” shape, and of course flower!} The alphabet Just starting to learn numbers She can tell you that she is two with her fingers {she is very excited about that!}
Random Thoughts and Things…
Loves to talk on the phone to Dad. She will talk random blabber with a few recognizable words here and there, all while passing around in a small circle in the living room. Mom usually has to translate for Dad.
Has a crazy memory, and will remember everything and anything… like the stores we shop at, once she see it, she remembers it!
Obsessed about which shoes she wants to wear… “Tennies,” “Kitty shoes” {AKA Puma’s}, and her coveted pink crocks {which Dad recently threw out… don‘t tell her, she did find them once in the garbage and took them out}. Same thing with her hats… it must be her pink one.
ALWAYS TALKING! She never is quiet. Never.
Insists on brushing her teeth before bedtime
Loves to be the helper… making dinner or cleaning.
Carries around her purse which currently contains her cars… Lightning, Miss Sally, Mator, Doc, and her helicopter and airplane.
Has a collection of Happy Meal toys beneath her feet in Mom’s car…. Hot Wheels, Polly Pockets, Wizard of Oz dolls… and those are nicely mingling with all of her balls from the Ball Store.
If you take a picture of her, she will insist on seeing it… “Elsie see?”
Always says goodbye to the house, pumpkins, and anything else around the house while driving away down the street. .. Which will be repeated numerous times. Did I mention she doesn’t stop talking?
She knows when we are getting close to home on our return trip. .. “Almost dere”
Likes to tell Dad how to drive… where to turn and “faster, faster Dad.” Especially, when going to “Donald’s”
Repeatedly says “Whatcha doin’?” “ Whatcha doin Dad?” “Whatcha doin Mom” … Did I say she doesn’t stop talking?
She is now able to open up doors, which is new this past week. I think her hands where too small to get a good grasp on the knob and turn it. So now she is able to open up the closet to put away her coveted shoes, which she loves to do!
