I guess this is showing you how far behind I am with completing my album right now? My little secret is out. BUT I have to tell you, I am A-OK with that. I actually prefer to have several weeks to play and catch up with at a time. I keep taking my pictures each day, and that to me is "all caught up."
... So anyway.
This is what our St. Patrick's Day looked like this year. We had a sneaky visit from a tricky Leprechaun.
I typed up my journaling with an old typewriter, so please excuse all of my spelling mistakes. Elsie put up signs around the house as a preventive measure, but that Leprechaun must not have seen the "make a mess" sign until he tossed dinosaurs all about the living room.
But good thing he did see this one. Although, Elsie was a little disappointed that he didn't leave real gold and silver. I got to say, it would have been nice if it was real. Too bad leprechauns are so tricky!
And here is my favorite part of the whole thing. The kiddies are always up for a little paint mess. I had them make their own clovers using their finger prints. The blank grid cards that Becky Higgins makes are perfect for stuff like this.
If you want to see more, I have a post up at the My Mind's Eye Blog today with more details!
Product Used: Becky Higgins white grid cards, Becky Higgins Design G page protectors, My Mind's Eye Kate & Co. Collection, American Crafts Memory Marker (Raspberry, Denim, & Evergreen), Typewriter.

The My Mind's Eye Team was given the awesome opportunity to play along with this month's installment of sketches created by the amazing Becky Fleck from PageMaps. Ummm... Sketches? Yes, PLEASE! I am a fan of any sketch. They just make the creative process flow with ease, especially when you just have to size your pictures accordingly and order. Perfect.
So here is my sketch that the talented Becky Fleck sent me...
Yep, it was a singler! Those are kind of rare for me to do {wink}. I pulled up my picture folder from last year and began to do a little searching. Within no time, I found a few shots of when Elsie and I had a "girls only" morning. She had the day off of school, but Sam didn't. We decided it would be the perfect time to try out that big bead store in the Square. I quickly sized my pictures and ordered. So this is what I came up with...
I already had these journal cards on my desk from the last Project Life page that I did with all my My Mind's Eye goodies. Perfect. Of course they were a little bigger than the "sketch," but totally workable. I just sized my bottom layer of squares proportionately so that they were bigger too.
I spiced up the pre-printed journaling cards with some pretty little things, creating custom tags.
Since the theme of the layout was us making our jewlery, I drew a swooping line across the top of the layout and then stitched it with floss. I topped it off with a few enamel dots and the enamel tops from the My Mind's Eye brads. They are really easy to peel off. I just stuck my fingernail at the edge and peeled it back. I am sure you could use tweezers too. I really liked how that turned out. Just like us beading our string to make our little pretties; my bracelet and Elsie's necklace.
So there you have it, one sketch. One page completed. Another memory documented.

We had a day of jammies, lots of playtime and games with Gram DiDi, a little Moby Math and Raz Kids Reading on the computer for Elsie, saying goodbye, Snowman Sam, watching some 'toons with smelly blankie before heading to school, dinosaur digging, and some Girl Scout Valentines.
This week I used My Mind's Eye Collectable-Memorable Collection. It was a perfect match to the Becky Higgins Olive Edition. I just love it when things from different manufactures coordinate like they were made for each other. The colors were just meant to be together.
I went pretty light on journaling this week, because I included extra pictures and then a slice of Elsie's math work from school. This works for me, since I am usually so wordy that I need to type everything up just so that I have the room to fit it all! I know... Me? Wordy? Unheard of. HA!
I have more of my process, including how I did the perfectly spaced journaling on the weekly rundown card that is typed over on the My Mind's Eye Blog today! So please jump on over there to check 'er out.
Product Used: Becky Higgins Olive Edition, Becky Higgins Design D & A page protectors, My Mind's Eye Collectable Collection, American Precision Pen 05 (black), ColorBox Ink (Razzberry), Versafine (black), Bohemian Typewriter Font.

For 2010-2011.
With Spring just around the corner, why not do a Winter summary page? ... You know, for 2010/2011. I can't be too current when I scrapbook! It is fun to look back and see how much the kids have grown and changed though, all the while still doing some of the same favorite activities.
If you want to see a little more detail, jump on over to the My Mind's Eye Blog. I have my "Anatomy of a Double Page Layout" Series up! I hope you enjoy it; it takes a lot of time and energy to write those babies up ;)

Earlier this week, we bumped Elsie up into her top bunk! She is now sleeping high in the sky, leaving lots of fun space underneath her. So what do we do for a little girl who LOVES to color, draw, and write? Give her a table!
And it can't be just any table. We pulled out some of my decorative tapes from My Mind's Eye, and went to town creating the perfect rainbow.
Looks like Elsie, doesn't it? She is BEYOND excited. We put the table in her room for a picture, and she immediately put her pencils and notebook on it. She was a little sad to see that I still had to put a few coats of Polyurethane on it to protect it.
Want to see more pictures and how I did this? Jump on over to the My Mind's Eye Blog today and see my step-by-steps.

I shared this week over at the My Mind's Eye Blog today featuring the lovely My Mind's Eye Collectable Collection! I also shared some hints on how I do my computer generated journaling too, so make sure you stop on over there ;)
This week we had a silly boy, a work at home Dad, Barbies and Dinos living harmoniously together in Barbie's Dream Home, Muffins with Mom at school, Friday Night Movie Night, toy shopping adventure, and an after church lunch with awesome friends.
I used a title card from the Seafoam kit. Perfect color yellow for the Collectable Collection! I simply added a banner from the Memorable Chipboard sheet. I am not into bulk for this album, so I actually peeled off a few layers of the chipboard papers from the back. For my Sam day, I used the
"S" card for my Silly Sam and the "Life is good with you around" was perfect for the day when Chris worked from home (it had been awhile). The "Details" is from the Unforgettable Decorative Sticker sheet and mounted on a 3x4 card that I cut from the 6x6 Designer Paper pad. I cut also cut a yellow dot for the background of the pocket with the gas receipt.
You can find how I did my computer journaling here. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! The "Lovely" banner came from the Remarkable stamp set. The "It all began with..." card was trimmed from Unforgettable "Journal" paper. As was the "You are the best" card. This one just happens to be my favorite of all the cards. I would have to say Sunday lunch at Jimmy John's with good friends is a "best" to me!
And there you have Week 3 of 2013.
Product Used: Becky Higgins Seafoam Edition, My Mind's Eye Collectable Collection, American Crafts Dear Lizzy 5 & Frolic Date Stamp, American Crafts Ultimate Craft Pen Fine (black), American Crafts Memory Marker (Raspberry), Zig Writer (Baby Blue), Prima Chalk ink (Vintage Pink), Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Soft Pool), VersaFine (Onyx Black), Bohemian Typewriter Font

Elsie will be having her Valentine’s Party with her Daisy Girl Scout Troop on Sunday. So, we sat down this past weekend to create some special handmade Valentines for her Daisy Friends.
My favorite part... How she added her own personal message to each of the pre-printed titles to make it her own. If you want to see more, jump on over to the My Mind's Eye Blog.

I have a layout up at the MyMind's Eye blog today for the February Challenge! This is a fun one, and one that I came up with. It is all about Groundhog Day. Who thinks of Valentine's Day when you say February? In this house, Groundhog Day is the most special day there is in the month of February. For those that might not know, Chris' birthday is on Groundhog Day :)
Okay so enough about the birthday boy, let's talk about someone much cuter... Elsie! My take on the challenge related to the movie Groundhog Day. Living and repeating the same day over and over. Obviously we can't do that, so I just pulled up my pictures and documented the same day each year. So here it is:
... Just another wonderful day in the life of my little Elsie. From start through today. I do love that little girl of mine.
