{365} Project Life 2014 | Week 24

June 09 - June 15, 2014 | Week 24

Plenty more of summer fun... 

This was a very simple with documented with Studio Calico's June 2014 Hello, Hello kit along with Becky Higgins Sunshine and Strawberry Core Kit Editions. 

There was lots of summer fun with the Summer Reading Program at the library, Summer Movie Express, a trip to the Akron Fossil & Science Center, Lego building, and brand spanking new flip-flop wearing days. 

There was singing high, eating popsicles, riding on some hot wheels, more Lego building, lots of reading, and a very happy Father's Day for one lucky Dad.

Baseball, Legos, one month, and soccer! 

For this week I opened up Studio Calico's June 2014 Hello, Hello kits. I love the colors of summer!

This week included Sam's first T-Ball game, a trip to the Lego Store for the "free build," a sleeping baby on the couch, and a yummy treat at DQ. 

A little baby turned one month old, and two little swimmers enjoyed our sunny days. Saturday was all about the last day of the Spring Soccer season, and Sunday they played the Wii together.

May 26 - June 01, 2014 | Week 22

Elsie's last days of Second Grade. Officially saying hello to SUMMER! 

 

Another full week with an extra insert. I ended up using a mix-match of all sorts of cards. Some are Studio Calico, while others are Becky Higgins. I basically started off with that journal card with the stripe border. It was the b-side of the card from the previous week. I liked it, so I rolled with it. 

We kicked off Monday with a family swim day for Memorial Day. I am all about these kinds of days. I can't wait for summer to begin again. Tuesday marked the first official day of summer for Sam. We celebrated with a breakfast treat at Panera Bread after dropping the carpool off at school. We also got a walk it with John. We made a quick stop at the school to check out Field Day. Wednesday marked 10 years of wedding bliss. With all our ups and downs, I wouldn't want to change a thing. I love that man. 

Thursday was Elsie's last day of Second Grade. I created my own little tab to set this insert apart using two October Afternoon label stickers that were the same size together. 

I have no idea how time flies by so quickly. The school year blew right by.

They had their big year-end party. I asked Elsie to do some journaling for this. Yep, she is a girl of many many words until she has to write them down. What a girl. I will probably add in some of her homework or something from school with the bigger 4x6 card. 

It's becoming a tradition to enjoy our first outdoor fire of the year after the last day of school. I had planned on doing vertical pictures here, but I really liked this family pictures. I decided to keep it 4x6 so you could see it, and just put it in. That works for me.

#SpringLove 2012 {Anatomy of a Double Page Layout}

A Simple Card Set

I am up with a small project on the My Mind's Eye Blog today!

I got to do a little something extra above and beyond my two normal monthly contributions. After a little back and forth with myself of what to do, I went with a simple card set. I am all about creating these for small gifts and also to have on hand for that "just in case" moment. I like to keep them simple and quick.

{365} Project Life 2014 | Week 21

May 19 - May 25, 2014 | Week 21

Sam's last day of preschool, we say goodbye to our special guests, and pool season begins.

This week was full of pictures. Lots to document! This is also where I start mixing and matching my kits with each week. I was on a long binge of catch up, and I wasn't putting anything away. I had piles off all sorts of things all over my deck and floor. So, I just went with what was calling to me. This week, the water color card and the colorful stripes were my starting points.

Elsie brought home her big stack of art she had created at school. She sat down on the floor and told me her story for each piece of art work. The little guy has been napping in the corner of the couch. It is still so surreal to see this guy, especially when I dress him daily in Sam's old clothes. What a trip down memory lane. Like I said before, Sam is all about John. He is such a great little helper. My dad actually took these shots of us bathing John. I really love that he just grabbed my camera and snapped away. Since I am the only one that feels the need to take pictures, I only get in front of the lens if I set it up on timer. Sad, but true. I treasure these pictures. There really was no way for me to ever get a picture with a timer of these kinds of moments. I had my hands full.

We celebrated Sam's official last day of preschool and after three years of dropping this guy off at these doors have now come to an end. So bitter sweet. We have also been working our way through all of the Star War movies. I am afraid to say that these movies have not helped is complete infatuation with Star Wars. This boy is a Star Wars nut. We also said goodbye to my parents. After being here for a few weeks, they were ready to head home. It was so nice to have them here to help, and sad to see them go. BUT the good news is that we officially had our pool up and running for summer. Yep, they actually chose to go home the day before the pool was ready to swim. Crazy parents of mine.

Looking at this picture makes me long for this view again... I am sure the little guy sleeping in the chair will be running wild instead, but I am so ready for it. Bring back summer.

{365} Project Life 2014 | Week 20

May 12 - May 18, 2014 | Week 20

Falling into our new normal.

This week I continued working with mostly Studio Calico's May 2014 Camelot Project Life kit. I also added a couple of cards from Becky Higgins Daydreamer Edition mini kit. The "Enjoy it because it's happening" card was the opposite side of one of the cards I used for the previous week, and I used that as a jumping off point for this week. I guess I went with the "green" theme like we had with our pool water.

There was lots of time with the new addition. Sam has really taken to John. He just loves on him every second he can. From tummy time to just snuggling and talking on the couch, he is right there for him. He is one amazing big brother. I love that.

We made a trip up to see Chris at work. They were having their annual open house at the recyclery. I love watching how excited Sam is seeing everything that his Dad does on a daily basis. Of course, there are plenty more shots of us snuggling and taking in more of Baby John. Chris opened up the pool to get it ready for summer... Yep, it was nice and green. It took a lot of time and cleaning, but my pool boy took care of that.

{365} Project Life 2014 | Week 19

May 05 - May 11, 2014 | Week 19

The week we became a party of five.

Yep. Week 19 was a big one for us here, so there was lots to include. I used Studio Calico's May 2014 Camelot Project Life kit. The cards were just perfect for a week that included welcoming a sweet little baby. Wouldn't you say?

I woke up bright and early Monday morning to a very funny feeling. Long story short, my water broke. Lucky for me, Chris hadn't left for work yet. Once we got everything in order, we headed off to the hospital to meet this little nugget who I had been caring around for about 37 weeks.

Just after 1 o'clock in the afternoon, we met John. A baby boy! And we officially became a party of five.

Lots more pictures of everyone meeting this little guy. Yes, I have an empty 4x6 journal card that I still want to journal on for him. I was kind of loss for words... or more like had lots to say... I decided to leave it blank. I will go back and hand write a note soon.

And we finally got to take him home.

On that same day, Sam brought home his Mother's Day gift home from school. He was so excited to share it. He couldn't wait to give it to me... an early present. The little guy needed a little extra sunshine. We had our first big adventure out as a family to the big ones' soccer games. And this was the first Mother's Day I actually got to spend with my own mother in like 16 years. It was pretty nice.
