A little background...
This past summer, I sat down and made a list of all pages I still wanted to document in Elsie and Sam's personal scrapbook albums. I don't scrapbook in order, but I do like to keep everything in chronological order by leaving spaces where they need to be. I put sticky notes to remind me what goes where. This time I made a list in my notebook to keep everything simple and easy for me. When I am ready to play with pretty papers, then I just grab my list and go to town. Yes. I actually have a list of scrapbook pages that I want to document. I am a little crazy, but it works for me.
So when it was time to get busy with my My Mind's Eye assignments this month, I pulled out my handy dandy notebook for ideas. I saw lots of Christmas memories that still needed to be tackled. Yep, Christmas is the black sheep of things to document for me. I love Christmas, but not scrapbooking it. Too many pictures, too much chaos, and the same old thing year after year; it just gets "boring" to me. BUT I do want to document it.
In comes those lovely pocket pages. I think the best way to tackle Christmas memories are simply printing off my favorite pictures and sliding those bad boys into pockets. So. Much. Easier.
Anyway...
I have a new post up for my Project Life Series on the My Mind's Eye Blog this month. I tackled Christmas 2011 for Sam's album. Crossing those items off of my handy dandy list!
Here is the first side. It is just a little neighborhood Christmas party. As you can see, I kept things very simple. It's just pictures with the story.
Then you flip that page over to find a double spread of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Like I said, I kept it very simple. Repeating similar elements was the key to my success.

I actually got to play with a transparent pocket. I used a Transparent Frame from MME's Jubilee Collection. I always want to put these in my album, but I never have enough room. Well this time around, I decided I would just add more pages to give everything breathing room. With such crazy colorful-chaotic pictures, I think it was a great decision.
And I finished off with Christmas morning. I didn't take many pictures during the day, but I did include that one of Chris and Sam. I am happy how this summary of Christmas turned out.
You can check it out in greater detail on the My Mind's Eye Blog HERE.
Since I am putting these pages into his existing album, there is a blank 12x12 single page at the start and end of this. I have a plan for that too. Next week, I will show you how I tacked that one.
