Yet another full weekend of fun in the Jaquet household. On Saturday, Chris needed to take his car in for a routine check-up. Seeing that the dealership is right next to the lovely mall, we all ventured there for the wait.
And guess where we HAD to go?!?!
Build-A-Bear! Hip-Hip-Hooray! Elsie knows exactly where to find it. We come in on the second level and the first store we usually hit is Baby Gap, and she knows that if she walks over to the look-down to the first floor, she will get to see the store. Nice. You will all be excited to know, that Dad stayed strong this time when she insisted that she NEEDED the new frog. Unfortunately, he opened Pandora’s box when he insisted that we look at the clothes. I reminded him that we now have three lovely creatures at home that she will have to clothe. There is no such thing as only getting one outfit. After a much excited Elsie scrambled around the store gathering every outfit insight, we convinced her that she could get the jammies, and pick two more shirts for each friend. So everyone could wear a new outfit. She decided that she wanted one shirt and one skirt along with the jammies. I was a little nervous with this decision, because I knew once we got home, there may be a slight issue with having only two outfits to clothe three friends. But all went well. Lily Bear got the shirt, Ella Bunny got the jammies, and Pinky Monkey got the skirt. Thank goodness.
Then comes the really fun part of Elsie's day...
Bathtime! She had some slight issues with potty training today. I'm just going to say that hearing her screaming bloody murder, not once, but twice during naptime, was not a good thing for me. Not to mention the other three incidents earlier in the day. So, we decided it would be a nice fresh start to the day if she took a much needed bath. The good news about this bath, we discovered Elsie's new hidden talent; she can dunk her head under the water! I was so suprised when I asked her if she wanted to try and dunker her face in the water... and she abliged. Very cool! I think we have a fish on our hands.
Moving on to Sam's special part of the day...
Yes. I did it. Maybe I cut a little too much off, but I did it. It really did need to be done. I do have conflicted feelings about the whole situation. But it is done. Can't change it.
And here it is. About 2 1/2 inches worth. Oh Sam, my little Sammy Sam.
Enough about that... moving on! Back to Elsie. She got a fun little surprise in the mail. Some stickers from Stacey (Chris' cousin) arrived. She was elated. Simply elated. Of course, she thought it was her birthday again. But she was still so happy to get mail.
She pulled out her sticker book and found a special spot for them.
The final product. She was so funny to watch as she put them in their spot. She picked which one goes first, and I pulled it off the sheet. With each one, she asked what each of them were. Of course, the dollies went first and each of the accessories followed. She made sure that she brushed their hair, painted their nails, and put the perfume and lipstick on. Then, she even let them see themselves in the mirror. What a doll. I really loved the special placement of the shoe, and the watch is a fun one too.
She made sure that this morning (just the same as last night), we all got another look at her new special stickers. She is really proud of these ones. Thanks Stacey! You really made a little girls day :)
